Big Sky Café and Yorkville Cellars Bordeaux Blending Seminar

An American Restaurant meets an American Bordeaux

 

February 25, 2003 ----Big Sky Café welcomes Edward Wallo of Yorkville Cellars on

Tuesday, March 18 for the first in a new series of Vine and Dine evenings.  To continue a new, exciting and fun to celebrate wine and food, Vine and Dine will be short yet informative wine seminars teamed with dinner and wine selections available for the evening.  

 

Mr. Wallo is the owner of vineyards in Mendocino, CA where he produces award winning classic Bordeaux style wines.  These wines are made with his estate grown grapes of all five classic Bordeaux varietals – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec & PetiteVerdot. 

 

6:00 – 6:45 Bordeaux Blending Seminar conducted by Edward Wallo

Tasting of wines from all grape varieties will be part of the seminar.  The discussion will finish with the Yorkville Cellars Richard the Lion-Heart 1998. 

 

6:45 – 7:00 Informal discussion and conversation with Ed Wallo 

During this time glasses of all of the Yorkville Cellars wine will be available for purchase.  As part of the seminar fee, participants of the seminar will receive a glass of wine of their choice.  

 

5:30 – 9:30 The regular dinner menu will be available throughout the evening.   In addition, Bordeaux style dinner specials created by Executive Chef Jon Wiltse will also be available for this unique evening.  Bordeaux wine flights – both red and white – have been created for the night as well. 

 

In addition, Mr. Wallo has also graciously agreed to stay throughout the entire evening to greet guests and answer questions about the award winning wine production, grape growing, and Yorkville’s Bordeaux in California. 

 

Big Sky Café is located at 47 S. Old Orchard in Webster Groves.  Cost of the seminar is $25.00 per person and reservations are recommended.
