Fess Parker, who portrayed American frontiersmen Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone in the 1950s and 60s, owns the 714 acre ranch and winery in Santa Ynez Valley, California.  His son, Eli Parker, began studying the farming side of wine making in 1986.  After an apprenticeship with Jed Steele in 1993, Eli was promoted to the Director of Winemaking and Vineyard Operations of Fess Parker in 1996.  Under Eli's leadership, the winery has received praise and awards from wine critics, and has rapidly expanded of the winery's vineyard to over 600 acres of vineyards on four different sites in Santa Barbara County.
